Girl Chat time! Let’s be real, we all have fears in our life. One of my biggest fears is the unknown of what may happen. I like to be in control as much as possible, and I’m consistently working on this fear. When I don’t know what’s going to happen I start getting anxious and I make up my own outcomes in my head. I freak out and end up scared. Now I understand my mom when she would think I was dying if I didn’t text her within an hour of not being home. But, now I put my trust in God and I feel at peace. I no longer fear of what may happen, now I look forward to what will happen & focus on the current moment.
First things first I’m the realest. Just kidding, so cliche, thanks Iggy. Anyways, when it comes to your fears, something that has helped me personally is asking “why”. Why is this making me fearful? How can I overcome this? Reality check, in order to overcome fear you have to face it.
One thing I fear is public speaking. Sometimes I have to speak in front of people & I always want to back out. But I always have to remind myself that I get to do it and it's an opportunity to reach people. At first I could barely get my point across, I’m surprised I didn’t faint. I’m still not good at it, but I can get my point across now & I’ve realized that the only way to overcome this fear, is to do it. Face your fears!
Natalie Guzman, fashion blogger behind fashion89 (featured in video below), has a fear of not accomplishing her goals before her 30's. How many times do we plan things in our life & we don’t always reach them in the timeline that we set?! It can be discouraging, like it’s all over. On the bright side, it isn’t! If you’re alive, you have another chance! Don’t let failure get in the way & stop you. Keep going!
As an entrepreneur, we take many risks: financial, emotional, mental, physical etc. Due to this we can tend to fear a lot! But your perspective on the fear, is the game changer. Instead of focusing on your problem, focus on the solution & the problem will disappear. Go for it, and watch what will happen!
I’m no psychiatrist but I am confident that YOU can overcome your fears. No matter what they are. How big or small. YOU got this!
